The magazine “We and Cartoon”
The magazine named “We and Cartoon” appeared in press, and it will be useful in developing and keeping Azerbaijan cartoon school alive which has a centenary history.
Azerbaijan Cartoonists’ Union that unites more than 70 artists, held a presentation ceremony of “We and Cartoon” magazine in February, 2006. This colored magazine consists of 24 pages and it will be published twice a year. The magazine is intended mainly for professional cartoonists.
Our aim is to develop and propagate publicly national cartoon art which is a branch of Azerbaijan descriptive art and which keeps A.Azimzadeh traditions on. At the same time, we want to increase young artists’ interest for this field, to inform readers and art lovers on Azerbaijan cartoon history, on our place and authority in present-day world cartoon.
We consider it our duty to throw light on life and work of our great artists who devoted their lives to the development of cartoon art, to pay special attention to their work that was supported by national valuables and to introduce and encourage young artists who took their first steppes in this field.
Professional artists work in this magazine. The Chief Editor and the founder of the magazine is Bayram Hajizadeh, Vice-Editor is the talented cartoonist and professional journalist Soltan Soltanli, and Graphic Editor is Vafa Allahyarova. Design and computer work of the magazine is done by the cartoonist and professional designer Leyla Salamova.
We believe that by combined and productive efforts of these people “We and Cartoon” magazine will be readable, interesting and popular.
