During short period of its existence, Azerbaijan Cartoonists’ Union held a number of exhibitions and contests of republic importance, prepared albums, catalogues, books and magazines that would propagate cartoon genre and presented them to art devotees. In 2006, attention to cartoon considerably increased as a result of exhibitions and arrangements held jointly with Azerbaijan Republic Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Azerbaijan Republic Ministry of Education, Azerbaijan State Social Defense Fund, Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts, Azerbaijan National Library named after Akhundov and the Union of Azerbaijan Artists.
The catalogues of exhibitions held by Azerbaijan Cartoonists’ Union are colored and of high quality. Our cartoonists’ works displayed in the exhibitions are placed in these catalogues. Taking into consideration the significance of these exhibitions for the artists, the importance of these catalogues is undeniable. Nine catalogues were published by the Cartoonists’ Union during last year. Works of 40-50 artists were placed in each catalogue and were presented to them in memory of the exhibition. This was a tiny contribution to cartoon devotees by Azerbaijan Cartoonists’ Union on the occasion of the jubilee.
