Nearly 1000 works by 300 cartoonists from 50 countries competed in this International Cartoon Contest which was organized by Azerbaijan Cartoonists’ Union and supported by Azerbaijan Republic Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Federation of Cartoonists Organisations and Union of Azerbaijan Artists. International Jury members, who were invited from different countries and who were guarantors of the objectivity and uprightness of the Contest, judged cartoon works of participants and selected the winners and awardees of the Contest. We congratulate the winners of the Contest, wish them every success in their work, and we invite all participants to the next International Cartoon Contest “Molla Nasreddin. Azerbaijan – 2009”.

Book-catalogue“Best Specimens of World Cartoon” is going to be published

A book-catalogue under the name “Best Specimens of World Cartoon” is going to be published. It’ll include best cartoon works of International Cartoon Contest “Molla Nasreddin. Azerbaijan – 2008” that was organized by Azerbaijan Cartoonists’ Union, and supported by FECO and Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Best 150-200 cartoon works selected among the cartoons of the Contest will be placed in this book-catalogue. Besides, the book-catalogue will comprise information about history of cartoon (and also present-day cartoon) in different countries, about the development way of world cartoon, and also contemporary world cartoon. We ask the leaders (presidents) of cartoon organizations to send short information (article or any other material) about the history of cartoon (and also contemporary cartoon), and development way of this genre in their countries. Please, send your materials through e-mail, till the 15^th of May. The book-catalogue will be published till the end of September. Each cartoonist and author whose work or material is published will be sent a free copy of this book-catalogue.
